William, trained as a poet, taught Transcendental Meditation from 1972-1986.  He served Fr. Thomas Keating's efforts at reintroducing Christianity to the contemplative dimension of the Gospel as a teacher of Centering Prayer for many years.  He was khalifa of the Crestone Circle of Nur, under Sheikh Nur al Jerrahi (Lex Hixon) and, after his passing in 1995, under Sheikha Fatima Fariha al Jerrahi, of the Ashki-Jerrahi.  Receiving diksha from Shri Punitachariji Maharaj ("Bapu") in 2002, he offers the Hari Om Tatsat Jai Guru Datta mantra, the meta-religious gift of spontaneous meditation to all humanity especially, specifically for these times of transformative challenge and change. He designed and oversaw the building of Sanctuary House.

Barbara, mother of three and the shakti of Sanctuary House, has significant experience with kundalini and is a spiritual counselor.  Her intuition and inspiration have helped guide the founding and direction of Sanctuary House.  In 2002, she received diksha from Bapushri at Girnar Sadhana Ashrama at the foot of Mount Girnar in Gujarat, India.  She is on semi-permanent retreat.
